Senior Backend Engineer (TypeScript + Node.js)

Our positions are full-time, remote, and offer competitive compensation in USD.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join a fast-paced startup environment. The role requires strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and Terraform, as well as a solid understanding of React, with a proactive mindset for identifying improvements and optimizing systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using TypeScript and Node.js
  • Work daily with AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions
  • Write and maintain Terraform configurations for infrastructure management
  • Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements
  • Build automation tools to support internal teams, demoing and iterating based on feedback
  • Occasionally contribute to the React/Next.js frontend


Requirements:

  • 4+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on TypeScript and Node.js
  • Hands-on experience with NestJS
  • Proficient in AWS core services: Lambda, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions
  • Strong experience with Terraform
  • Experience working with React
  • Solid understanding of backend best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, able to confidently present work, share insights, and engage with client stakeholders independently
  • Familiarity with Next.js is a nice-to-have
  • Experience with ElastiCache, ECS, Secrets Manager, and other AWS services is a plus
  • Strong English communication skills - Minimum B2 level proficiency
