Python Developer – Logistics Automation

We’re looking for a Python Developer with a passion for automation and a strong interest in the logistics or transportation industry. This role focuses on building and maintaining scripts that support key operations such as TNT data processing, surcharge automation, and ZipZone API management. You’ll play a vital role in streamlining manual workflows, helping the team transition from backend-heavy processes to a more user-friendly UI experience.
You’ll collaborate closely with non-technical colleagues and must be comfortable gathering requirements, iterating quickly, and juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and improve Python scripts for tasks like TNT pulls, web scraping, and fuel surcharge rate automation.
- Interface with existing request systems and databases to connect scraped or processed data to a GPU-related database.
- Support and manage the ZipZone API process using Postman and work closely with internal teams to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in migrating logic from backend to UI, with light UI-related tasks (no deep frontend expertise needed).
- Collaborate on automation efforts, including carrier alert updates and additional operations tooling.
- Work closely with stakeholders to clarify operational flows before data is uploaded.
- Adapt to a variable workload, with tight deadlines and multiple tasks to manage per day.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of experience writing Python scripts in a professional environment
- Basic proficiency in Excel for data validation and manual review
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with non-technical colleagues
- Comfort using Postman and understanding how to interact with APIs is a plus
- Prior experience in the logistics or transportation industry is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple, fast-moving tasks and tight turnaround times
- Flexible and eager to learn about non-technical logistics processes to support automation effectively
- Strong English communication skills - Minimum B2 level proficiency
