Junior Backend Engineer

At ioet, a leading software company with a talented team across LATAM, we provide Software Engineering as a service to clients worldwide. Our positions are full-time, remote, and offer competitive compensation in USD.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Backend Engineer with experience in Go/Golang, SQL, and a strong foundation in Computer Engineering or related fields. You’ll work on software development projects alongside international teams, gaining hands-on experience with real-world systems and helping support scalable and reliable applications.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career who’s passionate about clean, efficient code, eager to learn Go best practices, with a strong English level, and solid communication skills. Java hands-on experience or knowledge is a plus too.

Requirements:

  • Around 1 year of Software Development experience with Go/Golang
  • Formal hands-on experience as a Software Developer in at least one real project.
  • Familiarity with Go frameworks and libraries (e.g., Gin, Echo, Fiber) for building web services.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and/or gRPC
  • Experience with SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
  • Understanding of coding best practices such as SOLID principles, TDD, and clean architecture.
  • Strong English communication skills - Minimum B2 level proficiency

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with Java for backend development
  • Exposure to AWS services, especially DynamoDB, S3, or SQS
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with Golang and interest in developing further
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL
  • Awareness of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized development
  • Understanding of monitoring tools like New Relic or OpenTelemetry
  • Awareness of different types of software testing
