Junior QA Engineer

We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer with a software development background and strong attention to detail, who is eager to start and grow a career in QA. This role is focused on manual testing for backend and web applications, with emphasis on API validation, internal logic, and process reliability.

This position is ideal for someone proactive, curious, and comfortable collaborating closely with engineers to detect issues early and ensure the product works as expected.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and help translate them into test cases and basic testing documentation.
• Execute manual testing: functional + regression, for backend and web features.
• Perform API testing using Postman, validating REST services and JSON/XML responses.
• Support defect reporting and tracking in Jira, ensuring bugs are clear and reproducible.
• Assist in validating fixes and performing retests after bug resolution.
• Collaborate closely with developers to understand logic and ask questions when something doesn’t add up.
• Help maintain clean QA documentation and ensure good testing coverage across features.
• Support existing test scripts when needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in software development, QA, or hands-on roles.

  • Strong interest in QA and product reliability.

  • Basic knowledge of:

    • Manual testing processes

    • APIs / REST concepts

    • Postman (or similar tool)

    • JSON responses

  • Familiarity with Jira or any ticketing tool.

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn quickly.

  • Strong English level — minimum B2 proficiency.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience running or debugging automated test scripts.

  • Exposure to testing frameworks or QA automation tools.

  • Experience working on backend projects or API-based systems.

  • Basic SQL querying
