Senior Data Engineer

At ioet, a leading software company with a talented team across LATAM, we provide Software Engineering as a service to clients worldwide. Our positions are full-time, remote, and offer competitive compensation in USD.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, scale, and own the data platforms that power a fast-growing private-market intelligence product. You will build reliable batch and streaming pipelines, evolve lakehouse and warehouse architectures, improve data quality and governance, and help raise the technical standards of the engineering team.

This role requires strong hands-on experience building and operating production data systems at scale. You will collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, and Application Engineering teams to deliver business-critical data capabilities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or similar roles

  • Advanced Python and SQL skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Spark and Databricks is mandatory

  • Experience running data workloads in AWS or a similar cloud environment

  • Deep understanding of modern lakehouse and data warehouse patterns.

  • Strong data modeling experience, including dimensional models and star schemas.

  • Experience designing and operating scalable ETL and ELT pipelines

  • Experience with batch and streaming data processing

  • Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Databricks Workflows, or DBT

  • Understanding of cloud storage, compute, networking fundamentals, and cost management.

  • Experience with CI/CD practices for data platforms and Infrastructure as Code.

  • Strong English communication skills – minimum B2 level
